Legacy portfolio update (ex-UKIW)
Status updates for companies that have recently reported results
Many companies have reported financial results or guidance since the last portfolio update on 18 April.
In general, I'll aim to provide portfolio updates roughly quarterly, or when there is something significant to say. Given that financial reporting by companies is staggered according to differing financial reporting years, the quarterly updates will be broken into two parts in future.
Today I'll have comments about British American Tobacco, Currys, Forterra plc, Imperial Brands, International Distributions Services, Moneysupermarket, Unilever, and Urban Logistics REIT.
A number of companies are due to report in August (Admiral, BP, Pets At Home) or early September (Computacenter, Gamma Communications). So I'll give you an update on those once there is concrete news. At that time, I'll also comment on the Brazil index ETF, gold and the gold mining ETF.
The table below shows an updated snapshot of the portfolio as at 27 July. Note that a lot of stocks went ex-dividend during May, June and July (see the expected dividend calendar here). I've updated the dividend income figures to reflect this.
Remember that, all other things being equal, share prices drop by the latest dividend amount on the ex-dividend dates, but that the cash income isn't received by investors until the payment dates, which can be weeks later in some cases (and only a few days in others).
